Bromfield Manor Receipt Book

This book dates from 1541, when the former Bromfield Priory (dissolved in 1538), was leased to Charles Foxe.

The book even records a loan made to Charles I in 1625.

The receipt book’s binding is part of a liturgical manuscript, dated to the late 13th century, and possibly part of the Priory’s library.

The picture shows the binding on the left and the first page of the book on the right.
