Carpenter, THE 'LOST VOLUME' OF THE COWCHER BOOKS OF THE DUCHY OF LANCASTER: THE INVENTION OF A MANUSCRIPT The existence of a lost third volume of the Great Cowcher books of the Duchy of Lancaster was first postulated in the early 19th century.
