New Seminar series ‘The Shock of the Record : Archives and Truth’

Further to the British Records Association (BRA) forum on Archives and Truth  the BRA will be contributing to the Institute of Historical Research (IHR) Partnership Seminars series.

These seminars, called ‘The Shock of the Record : Archives and Truth’ will build upon the themes discussed in the 2019 forum and cover topics related to trust in archives and records, digital literacy and current scepticism of facts and evidence in our society.

Details of the seminars are now available on the IHR website . The seminars are open to anyone with an interest in records and archives and can be booked online. Attendance is free of charge.

The first seminar ’The Shock of the Record: Why Archives Matter’ will be held on the 18th March 2021 at 5PM GMT / 12 Noon EST on Zoom. Speakers are:

Professor Sir Richard Evans ,  former Regius Professor of History, Cambridge University

David Ferriero,  Archivist of the United States

Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE,  columnist for The Times and the Jewish Chronicle, long-term policy adviser to government, and member of the House of Lords.
